Our company independently develops and produces lightweight AC and AC/DC dual-purpose oil immersed and gas filled (SF6) series transformers based on the national standard for test transformers and industry standard JB/T9641-1999. These transformers have the characteristics of small size, light weight, compact structure, complete functions, strong versatility, and easy use. It is particularly suitable for conducting insulation strength and leakage tests on various electrical equipment, electrical components, and insulation materials under power frequency or DC high voltage in power systems, industrial and mining enterprises, scientific research departments, etc. It is an essential and important equipment in high voltage testing.

The HMYDJ-50kVA/250kV boosting set is equipped with a single-phase transformer for this series of test transformers. The adjustable voltage of 0-400V is output to the primary winding of the test transformer through the voltage regulator (attached to the regulator above 100kVA) in the operation box (platform). According to the principle of electromagnetic induction, adjustable high voltage can be obtained in the secondary winding group.

Q: : What is the main goal of the test?

A:

To ensure the insulation between different parts of the equipment (e.g., between high-voltage windings and the grounded tank, or between phases) has no major flaws like cracks, impurities, or insufficient clearance. It's a pass/fail test for dielectric strength.

Q: When is this test performed?

A:

This test is mandatory at three key stages:

Type Test:On the first unit of a new design to validate the insulation system.

Routine Test:On everyunit manufactured before it leaves the factory.

After Major Repair:Following a rewind or significant repair to ensure integrity is restored.

Q: What happens if the insulation fails the test?

A:

The test is destructive for a faulty unit. Failure is a sudden "breakdown" or "puncture" of the insulation, resulting in a large current flow. This identifies a critical weakness that would have certainly failed in service, potentially causing a violent explosion and a major power outage.

Q: What does "Withstand" mean?

A:

It means the insulation successfully endured the high voltage for the full duration (typically 60 seconds) without breaking down. The equipment "passed" the test.

Q: Is this test dangerous?

A:

Yes, extremely. It involves lethal high voltages and large amounts of flammable insulating oil. It must only be conducted by trained personnel in a controlled environment (factory or specialized lab) following strict safety protocols, including grounding and safety barriers.
