product Overview

The HMTX-II Transformer Core Ground Current Tester is a specialized testing device designed to measure ground current in transformer cores. It is widely used for testing leakage current in the cores and clamps of electrical equipment-such as transformers and reactors-in substations and power plants.
Under normal circumstances, the core of a properly operating transformer is grounded at a single point. If two or more points are grounded simultaneously, a current loop will form between the core and ground, with the maximum current reaching tens of amperes, which can cause localized overheating or even burnout of the core. Detecting latent faults in transformers as early as possible is the primary means of ensuring their safe operation and proper maintenance.
