Product Overview

hm257101

The HM2571 Digital Earth Resistance Tester is a professional measurement device widely used in power, telecommunications, railway, and industrial/mining enterprises. This instrument employs advanced integrated circuitry and DC/AC conversion technology, replacing traditional hand-crank generators to measure ground resistance values for various facilities. This device integrates both three-terminal and four-terminal measurement methods into a single unit, ensuring simple and efficient operation. It accurately performs tasks such as power system ground resistance testing, communication base station grounding safety assessments, and railway system grounding facility maintenance, thereby ensuring the safe and stable operation of electrical equipment.

Features & Advantages

1.High-strength aluminum alloy housing structure with phase-locked loop tracking circuitry synchronized with a switched capacitor filter.

2.Utilizes DC/AC conversion technology to transform low-frequency constant DC current into AC for measurement.

3.Allows auxiliary ground resistance switching between 0~2KΩ (RC) and 0~40KΩ (RP) without affecting measurement results.

4. Eliminates manual instrument balancing with a 3½-digit LCD display. Beyond resistance measurement, it also determines low-resistance conductor resistance, soil resistivity, and AC ground voltage.

Operating Procedure:

Ground Resistance Measurement (as shown in Figure 1)

  1.  Position the grounding electrode E (C2, P2), potential probe P1, and current probe C1 in a straight line 20 meters apart. Place the potential probe midway between E and C, then insert all probes into the ground as required.
  2. Connect the earth resistance tester terminals E (C2, P2), P1, and C1 to the corresponding probe locations using dedicated cables.
  3. Turn the earth resistance tester power switch to "ON". Select an appropriate range by lightly pressing the corresponding key until its indicator light illuminates. The value displayed on the LCD screen represents the measured earth resistance.

Maintenance & FAQs

Q: How to clean the HM2571 Digital Ground Resistance Tester?

A: Wipe the device surface gently with a soft dry cloth to remove dust and dirt. If the surface is very dirty, dampen the cloth with a small amount of water or neutral cleaner, but avoid getting liquid into the device. Allow it to dry completely before storage or use.

Q: How to store the tester when not in use for a long time?

A: Remove the battery to prevent leakage and corrosion. Store in a dry, well - ventilated area without corrosive gases, avoiding direct sunlight and high humidity. Power it on for inspection regularly (e.g., quarterly) to ensure proper functioning.

Q: How to maintain the test leads?

A: After use, organize the test leads to avoid tangling and excessive bending. Check for oxidation or dirt on the plugs and clean with an eraser if necessary. Regularly inspect the insulation layer for damage and replace if damaged to ensure measurement safety.

Q: What to do if there's a large measurement error?

A: First, check if the test leads are securely connected, if the auxiliary ground electrode is inserted deep enough, and if the surrounding soil is too dry. If connections are correct, try calibrating the device per the manual. If the issue persists, contact the supplier or a professional for repair.

Q: How to handle shortened battery life?

A: If battery life is significantly reduced, it may be due to aging. Check the battery contact first, then try replacing with a new battery. If the problem continues, there might be an internal circuit or battery compartment fault requiring professional repair.
