measurement Introduction
1. Power Frequency High Voltage Measurement
After correct wiring, turn on the "Power" switch of the low-voltage display meter. Set the function switch to the AC position and select the High range to measure power frequency high voltage. The LCD reading indicates the measured power frequency high voltage value. For voltages below 20kV, switch the function selector to the Low range to achieve higher measurement accuracy. After testing, disconnect the high voltage and wait until the low-voltage display meter returns to zero before entering the site. (During AC testing, the meter will return to zero slowly, but the high-voltage power source may already be de-energized.)
2. DC High-Voltage Measurement
After correct wiring, turn on the low-voltage display meter's "Power" switch. Set the function switch to the DC position and select the High range to measure DC high voltage. The LCD reading indicates the DC high-voltage value. For voltages below 20kV, switch the function selector to the Low range to achieve higher measurement accuracy. After testing, disconnect the high voltage and wait until the low-voltage display instrument returns to zero before entering the test area. Note: When measuring DC, due to the presence of filter capacitors, discharge must be completed before approaching the high-voltage divider.
3. Independent Use of High-Voltage Divider
Designed to meet customer requirements, the high-voltage divider can operate independently. A standard multimeter can replace the low-voltage display meter. With a 1000:1 voltage division ratio, multiplying the multimeter reading by 1000 yields the measured high-voltage value. Thus, the multimeter reading can be converted to kV.
Troubleshooting
| Fault Scenario | Troubleshooting |
| No response after powering on, LCD screen blank | Replace battery in low-voltage display meter |
| Test results deviate significantly | Check if coaxial cable is properly connected |
| Noticeable discharge noise during measurement | Check if grounding is secure |
| High-voltage divider may be damp; wipe divider housing with dry cloth, then use dry hairdryer to blow from top to bottom for five minutes |
