Principles and Circuitry
Lightning impulse voltage test equipment is a capacitor-storage pulse power device. Its basic principle block diagram is as follows:
The equipment is divided into the following four sections (units):
1) High-voltage DC charging unit;
2) Surge device body: capacitors/resistors and inductors;
3) Touchscreen control system;
4) Computer-based measurement and control system.
Operating Description
Polarity Status: The display automatically shows either "Positive Polarity" or "Negative Polarity" based on the current polarity. If no polarity is detected, it displays "None" and flashes to remind you to switch polarity first.
Capacitor: During charging, the pointer moves from left to right, indicating charging activity. The capacitor fills in percentage based on charging voltage relative to set voltage, providing a visual charge status. Current voltage is displayed textually.
Grounding Status: When the grounding solenoid activates, the graphical grounding indicator changes from green to red, signifying danger.
Trigger Ball: The current trigger ball distance is displayed visually. The position of the displayed ball automatically adjusts based on the trigger ball distance, accompanied by a numerical display of the current ball gap distance.
