A 50kV VLF Hipot Tester is a portable 'stress-test' machine for electrical cables and equipment. The withstand voltage test can be divided into ac withstand voltage test and dc withstand voltage test.
The 50kV VLF Hipot Tester has three core upgrades:
① Expanded test scope to 110kV equipment (from 35kV);
② Increased output current by 50% (from 20mA to 30mA) for large-capacity samples;
③ Enhanced low-temperature adaptability (from -10°C to -20°C) for cold-region applications.

Q: What is the maximum length of cable I can test?
A: There is no fixed "maximum length." The limitation is the capacitive load(measured in microfarads, µF) the tester can handle, which increases with cable length. Check your tester's specifications for its maximum load (e.g., 5 µF). A typical 50kV tester can handle several miles of cable.
Q: The tester is showing a "High Leakage Current" warning. What does this mean?
A: This means the current flowing through or over the surface of the insulation is higher than a safe limit. It indicates potential contamination (dirt, moisture) on the terminations or a serious problem with the cable's insulation. Stop the test, ensure the terminations are clean and dry, and investigate the cable
