Maintenance

 

1. After Every Use (Daily/Before & After each test)

LOOK for damage: Inspect cables, connectors, and the case for cuts, cracks, or burns.

CLEAN everything: Wipe down the unit, cables, and connectors with a clean, dry cloth to remove dust and moisture. Keep it spotless.

CHECK the ground cable: Ensure the grounding wire and clamp are in perfect condition. This is your primary safety device.

 

2. Periodic Checks (e.g., Monthly or Quarterly)

CHECK your accessories: Verify that your safety gloves, voltage detector, and grounding stick are still certified and undamaged.

TEST the self-test: Many units have a built-in self-test or calibration check function. Run it to verify the electronics are healthy.

STORE properly: Keep the tester in its original case in a dry, temperature-controlled room. Avoid leaving it in a hot van or damp warehouse.

 

3. Once a Year (or as per manufacturer)

CALIBRATEATE:This is the most important professional service. Send the entire system (tank, console, cables) to a certified lab or the manufacturer for annual calibration. This ensures your 40kV readings are accurate and your test results are valid.
