The HMDQ HMCOT 80kV VLF Hipot Tester is a specialized device for insulation withstand voltage testing of high-voltage equipment, designed mainly for power grids, industrial plants, and electrical maintenance scenarios.

Applications:

Power Cables: It is primarily used to test medium and high-voltage power cables, such as 10kV and 35kV XLPE and PVC cables. It can be used to test the insulation performance of cables after installation or repair to ensure the safe operation of the power grid.

Rotating Machinery: It is applicable to large rotating machinery, including motors and generators. The tester can test the insulation of their coils to ensure the normal operation of the equipment.

Transformers and Switchgear: It can be used for the dielectric strength testing of transformers and switchgear, helping to detect potential insulation defects in these devices and ensure the reliability of the power system.

  • single connection structure (one booster) shallbe adopted for ultra-low frequency with rated voltageless than or equal to 50kV; The ultra-low frequencygreater than 50kV adopts series structure (twoboosters are connected in series), which greatlyreduces the overall weight and enhances the loadcapacity. Moreover, both boosters can be used aloneto achieve multi-purpose of one machine.
  • For ultra-low frequencies with a rated voltage less than or equal to 80kV, a single connection structure (one booster built into controller) is used. Ultra low frequencies greater than 80kV adopt a series structure (two boosters are connected in series), greatly reducing the overall weight and enhancing the load-bearing capacity.
  • Current and voltage data are directly sampled from the high-voltage side, so the data is accurate.
  • Intelligent comprehensive protection function: Without setting current and voltage protection values, the instrument can calculate overvoltage and overcurrent protection values based on the size of the sample capacitance and the test voltage value. It can also provide protection against voltage and current mutations, so it can capture discharge situations. The protection action time is less than 20ms.
