HM282305

The HM2823 Partial Discharge Tester for High-Voltage Switchgear utilizes received ultrasonic signals generated by partial discharges to detect their presence and location. Combined with real-time image and data displays, it enables rapid diagnosis of partial discharge conditions. This locator integrates both transient earth voltage and ultrasonic detection methods. When partial discharge occurs, it generates physical phenomena such as ultrasonic waves, heat, light, and magnetic fields. Among these, ultrasonic waves propagate spherically outward from the source.

Mwasuring Description

Power on the main unit and ensure the TEV sensor is positioned away from any metal objects, as proximity may interfere with the self-test. Select TEV mode, connect the main unit to the TEV sensor using the provided cable, and place the TEV probe directly against the surface of the metal object to be measured.

Measurements on switchgear are taken at the center position of each component on every panel, such as cable boxes, current transformer compartments, busbar compartments, circuit breakers, and voltage transformers.
Record the first set of readings at each location. However, if the measured amplitude exceeds the background noise level by 10dB and the amplitude itself exceeds 20dB, three consecutive sets of readings should be recorded.
