The HM5020 Automatic Inductance and Capacitance Tester is specifically designed to measure the capacitance of individual capacitors in shunt capacitor banks at substations. Manufactured by Goldhome, the HM5020 fully automatic capacitance and inductance tester is a non-disconnect measurement instrument designed for use in power field applications, primarily for the rapid testing of compensation capacitors and reactors at substations.
Working principle
The circuit under test includes sampling circuits that capture the voltage and current of the capacitor being measured. The outputs of these sampling circuits are connected to amplification circuits. The voltage signal from the voltage amplifier and the current signal from the current amplifier are fed into a phase detector, which outputs a phase difference signal. After the voltage and current signals are converted via an A/D converter, they are input to the CPU for calculation to determine the value of the capacitor being measured. The use of a movable current sampling unit allows for direct capacitance measurement without disconnecting the test leads.
Furthermore, since the measurement range is automatically selected during the process, errors caused by manual operation are eliminated, resulting in high stability, excellent repeatability, and accurate, reliable results.
