Product Overview

The HM3030S Lightning Strike Counter Tester is used for on-site calibration of discharge counters installed with zinc oxide surge arresters and silicon carbide valve-type surge arresters. It simulates real lightning impulse signals to verify that the counters are counting correctly, without sticking or missed counts, and meets the requirements for preventive testing in outdoor and indoor environments at substations, power plants, and maintenance workshops. It complies with the power industry standards DL474.5-92 and IEC 60099-4.
product principle

Apply an 8/20 μs, 100 A surge current wave generated by a surge current generator to the operating counter. If the counter operates normally, the instrument is in good working order; otherwise, it should be disassembled and repaired. For example, a certain power utility bureau once used this method to test 27 counters, three of which failed to operate; upon disassembly, it was found that internal components had become damp and damaged. The "Regulations" stipulate that the test should be performed 3 to 5 times consecutively, with the counter operating normally each time and an interval of at least 30 seconds between each test. After testing, the recorder should be reset to zero.
