HM6020 Zinc Oxide Surge Arrester Tester Display Video
Products overview

The HM6020 Zinc Oxide Surge Arrester Tester is specifically designed to detect internal defects such as poor contact between the valve discs of gapless zinc oxide surge arresters (MOA) used in power systems rated 10kV and below. It measures the DC reference voltage (U1mA) of the MOA and the leakage current at 0.75 U1mA. This instrument integrates a DC high-voltage power supply with a measurement and control system, with all components housed within a single compact enclosure. It features a small footprint and lightweight design.
technical Parameters
1. Measurement range: Voltage 0–30kV Current: 0–1000μA
2. Measurement accuracy: Voltage 1%
3. Ambient temperature: 0–+40°C
4. Relative humidity: ≤85% at 25°C
5. Altitude: <1000m
6. Power supply voltage: 220V ±10%
7. Power supply frequency: 50±1Hz

Usage
1. Open the instrument case lid and ensure the instrument housing is securely earthed.
2. Insert one end of the surge arrester into the instrument's high-voltage bushing (H terminal), securing the other end with a cable clamp. Alternatively, use a dedicated insulated cable to connect the high-voltage terminal to an external test specimen.
3. Switch on the power supply. Following internal self-testing, the alarm indicator illuminates and the discharge indicator lights up. Press the test button once; both dial readings should display zero ±1 digit.
4. Press the reset button once; the alarm indicator extinguishes and the instrument enters test mode, ready for operation.
5. Press and hold the test button for approximately one second before releasing. The instrument will automatically complete all MOA test procedures.
6. Precautions
(1) If the alarm light illuminates upon pressing the test button, this indicates internal contact faults within the MOA or loose external wiring. After the discharge indicator illuminates, inspect external connections or replace the test specimen before pressing the reset button to initiate the next test.
(2) Should the alarm light remain off, this indicates sound internal contacts and correct wiring within the MOA. The instrument will automatically enter the measurement state for U1mA and Id, displaying the test results on the dial. Once the discharge indicator illuminates, the test concludes. Disconnect the test leads or replace the test specimen to commence the next test.
