Engineer Sun Successfully Completes On-Site Commissioning and Handover of the HMCJ-200kV/15kJ Lightning Impulse Generator and the HMSLQ-2000A Fully Automatic High-Current Booster

On May 28, Mr. Sun, a senior commissioning engineer at Goldhome, traveled to Yunnan to complete the on-site installation, commissioning, training, and handover of the HMCJ-200kV/15kJ Lightning Impulse Generator and the HMSLQ-2000A Fully Automatic High-Current Booster for the client. The simultaneous deployment of these two core pieces of equipment will significantly enhance the client's comprehensive testing capabilities in the fields of high-voltage electrical equipment and high-current temperature rise testing. The client highly praised the equipment's outstanding performance and Engineer Sun's professional service.

Located in Yunnan, the client's site is situated in a high-altitude region at an elevation exceeding 1,800 meters. The thin air imposes stricter requirements on the insulation performance and heat dissipation conditions of high-voltage equipment. Upon arriving at the site, Engineer Sun, despite the fatigue from his journey, immediately coordinated with the client's engineering team to meticulously inspect the laboratory's power supply capacity, ground resistance, and site layout. To address the high-altitude environment, Engineer Sun recalibrated the spark gap distance and charging voltage limits of the lightning impulse generator and adjusted the forced-air cooling strategy of the high-current ramp-up unit to ensure the equipment could operate safely and stably at high altitudes.

During the commissioning of the lightning impulse generator, Engineer Sun progressively completed the integrated testing of the charging unit, Marx circuit, trigger discharge system, and waveform acquisition system. After fine-tuning, the device successfully generated a standard full-wave lightning impulse (1.2/50µs) at the rated voltage of 200kV. The waveform captured by the oscilloscope shows: rise time of 1.22 µs, half-peak duration of 50.8 µs, peak deviation less than ±2%, and a smooth waveform free of oscillations, fully compliant with IEC 60060-1 and GB/T 16927 standards. The client's technical lead remarked on-site: "Obtaining such a clean surge waveform in a high-altitude region demonstrates both the equipment's robust design margin and Engineer Sun's exceptional commissioning expertise."

Meanwhile, Engineer Sun conducted a systematic commissioning of the HMSLQ-2000A fully automatic high-current booster. With a rated output current of 2000A and utilizing fully automatic closed-loop control, this device can deliver high currents stably over extended periods. It is widely used for temperature rise tests and current withstand tests on products such as circuit breakers, transformers, and busbars. After connecting the test circuit, Engineer Sun sequentially performed step-up current tests at 500A, 1000A, 1500A, and 2000A. The equipment responded rapidly, with low current waveform distortion. Temperature rise remained stable during prolonged full-load operation, and the control software displayed current values and curves in real time, featuring dual protection against overcurrent and overheating. The client's operators were highly impressed with the one-button fully automatic current ramping, data logging, and report export functions.

After commissioning, Engineer Sun organized a comprehensive training course for the client's operators. The curriculum covered: safety operating procedures for both units, adjustment of lightning impulse waveform parameters, closed-loop control settings for the high-current ramping unit, daily maintenance, and troubleshooting common faults. The training employed a combination of theoretical instruction, on-site hands-on practice, and simulated assessments to ensure every participant truly mastered the material. Ultimately, all three of the client's technicians successfully passed the independent operation assessment and are now capable of proficiently completing the entire process-from equipment startup and parameter configuration to test execution and data saving.

At the delivery signing ceremony, the client's laboratory director stated: "We have been following Goldhome's equipment for quite some time and have now purchased two sets of critical testing equipment in this single order. Engineer Sun traveled thousands of miles to Yunnan; with his solid technical expertise and patient, meticulous approach, he not only ensured the equipment was quickly put into operation but also provided hands-on training to our team. We are very satisfied with the results of this commissioning and look forward to further collaboration in the future."

This trip to Yunnan marks another successful case of Goldhome deepening its presence in the Southwest market and serving clients in high-altitude regions. Both the HMCJ series lightning impulse generators and the HMSLQ series fully automatic high-current boosters feature modular and intelligent designs, capable of meeting rigorous testing requirements in complex environments. The Goldhome service team, represented by Engineer Sun, consistently adheres to the principles of "rapid response, professional delivery, and customer satisfaction," ensuring that every piece of equipment performs at its best in any corner of the globe.
