The HM-YDN Kinematic Viscosity Analyser is a precision instrument for fully automated measurement of a liquid's flow resistance (viscosity) at a specified temperature. It automatically calculates the liquid's kinematic viscosity value—typically expressed in mm²/s (square millimetres per second)—by measuring the time required for a fixed volume of liquid to flow through a calibrated capillary tube under gravitational force. The kinematic viscosity analyser employs advanced fuzzy PID temperature control technology, ensuring precise temperature regulation with an accuracy of ±0.1°C. It supports multiple temperature control points specified by national standards, including 20°C, 40°C, 60°C, 80°C, and 100°C, and can be set to maintain any desired temperature (provided it exceeds ambient conditions). It may also function as a standard constant-temperature water bath.

Product Overview

The HMYDN Automatic Kinematic Viscosity Tester for Insulating Oil complies with the GB/T 265-1988 standard "Determination and Calculation of Kinematic Viscosity of Petroleum Products" and is suitable for measuring the kinematic viscosity of liquid petroleum products (Newtonian fluids). This instrument measures the time taken for a fixed volume of liquid to flow through a calibrated glass capillary viscometer under gravity at a constant temperature. The product of the capillary viscometer constant and the flow time represents the kinematic viscosity of the liquid at that temperature.

Features & Advantages

 

 The automatic viscosity tester employs advanced fuzzy PI temperature control technology to achieve precise temperature regulation with ±0.02°C accuracy.

 Supports six preset temperature levels: 40°C, 50°C, 60°C, 70°C, 80°C, and 90°C. Custom temperature settings are also available (set temperature must exceed ambient temperature). Temperature adjustment increments are 0.1°C, enabling dual functionality as a universal constant-temperature water bath.

 Four glass capillary viscometers simultaneously measure dynamic viscosity under identical constant-temperature conditions. Each viscometer performs four repeat measurements to generate independent test datasets.

 Features a high-definition color touchscreen with rich, clear interface content and responsive, flexible touch operation. Automatically prints measurement results rapidly.

 

Function Introduction

 

      The functions of instrument are introduced according to different interfaces as follows:

     

         1.Turn on the machine to display the name of instrument.

    As shown in above figure, there are four buttons on the left. "Temperature control": start to control the temperature according to the set temperature. "Stop": used to stop the temperature control. "Record": enter into the record interface. "Start/Stop": start or stop the timing of stopwatch1-4. Sample 1, 2, 3 and 4 from left to right is corresponding to four glass viscosimeters on the top cover of water bath, select the sample. Click pipe diameter and constant to set the pipe diameter and constant for four glass viscosimeters. Click the set temperature to set up the required value of temperature. "Temperature" shows the real value. Click "Start/Stop" to start timing, and the timer will time at a resolution of 0.1 seconds and stop if click the button again, the left timer is displayed. Timing 1, 2, 3 and 4 shows four consecutive counts of the same viscosimeter. Click the corresponding time value to delete it if there is a noticeable time error, and the following timing position moves up in turn. After the completion of four timings, it will automatically calculate and display the test result of kinematic viscosity. The results of kinematic viscosity calculation show the kinematic viscosity measured by the corresponding glass viscometer. (Unit: mm2/S) If the kinematic viscosity is required to be calculated even there is 1-3 timing, click the kinematic viscosity, the instrument will calculate the kinematic viscosity through average value, diameter and constant of the existing timing time, then displays, saves and prints the result.

    Click the pipe diameter, constant, set temperature and time on the screen to pop up the full digit keyboard, click the digit to input the data as required. Click OK to save the data and exit. Click ESC to cancel and exit.
