The SF₆ gas recovery unit is designed for the evacuation, charging, recharging, purification and recovery of sulphur hexafluoride gas in SF₆ electrical equipment.

 

Working Principle

 

The CXLH-7Y-4-50 SF₆ gas recovery, charging and discharging unit is a comprehensive system capable of performing functions such as recovery, charging, discharging, purification, vacuum extraction, storage and cylinder filling; the system is relatively complete, as shown in the system diagram in Appendix 1. The sequencing or switching between these functions is primarily achieved by operating the electrical control box and ball valves located on one side of the control panel.

The basic operating principle of the recovery unit is based on the cryogenic liquefaction method. During recovery, the suction and compression capabilities of the compressor are utilised to draw SF₆ gas at a certain pressure from SF₆ electrical equipment into the compressor, where it is compressed to a higher pressure. Simultaneously, the low evaporation temperature of R22 refrigerant is utilised to cool the high-temperature SF₆ gas to its condensation temperature for liquefaction and storage. This continuous suction process continues with the SF₆ compressor operating in series until the final recovery pressure is reached.
