The HMCXZ-800kV/4000kVA variable-frequency series resonance test system is primarily used for AC withstand voltage testing of high-voltage electrical equipment, such as power transformers, GIS, power cables, circuit breakers, and insulators, at voltage levels of 800kV and below.
working principle
- Low power supply requirements: By utilizing the series resonance between the resonant reactor L and the test specimen's capacitance C, the power supply need only cover the system's active power losses (approximately 1/Q of the test capacitance). The higher the Q-factor, the lower the power supply requirements.
- Compact and lightweight: By eliminating the need for high-power voltage regulators and power-frequency test transformers, the weight and volume are approximately 1/10 to 1/30 that of conventional test equipment.
- High-quality output waveform: The resonant filter circuit produces a pure sine wave with a waveform distortion rate of ≤1%, preventing harmonic peaks from causing accidental breakdown of the test specimen.
- Fail-safe operation: When the test specimen breaks down, the circuit immediately detunes, and the short-circuit current rapidly drops to 1/Q of the normal test current, preventing damage to the breakdown point.
- No recovery overvoltage: After breakdown, the high voltage disappears immediately, the arc is extinguished, and there is no overvoltage surge.
