Comparative Analysis of the HM2672 and HM2306 Insulation Resistance Testers

In the field of insulation resistance testing equipment, Goldhome's HM2672 and HM2306 models are designed for different application scenarios and each features distinct technical characteristics. The HM2672 emphasizes cost-effectiveness, strong anti-interference capabilities, and portability, making it suitable for routine insulation testing of high-voltage electrical equipment; the HM2306, on the other hand, focuses on higher voltage ratings and enhanced anti-interference capabilities, specifically designed for on-site insulation evaluation of large-capacity transformers and long-distance power cables in ultra-high-voltage substations of 220 kV and above.

I. Output Voltage and Applicable Range: Below 110kV vs. 220kV and Above

The HM2672 offers four voltage levels: 500V, 1000V, 2500V, and 5000V, with a measurement range of 0–19,990 MΩ, and is primarily used in power systems below 110kV. The HM2306 builds upon the standard model by adding 250V, 10,000V, and even 12,000V ranges, with a maximum resistance measurement range of 10 TΩ. It is specifically designed for on-site testing in ultra-high-voltage power systems of 220 kV and above.

II. Interference Immunity: 2 mA vs. 50 mA Induced Current

The HM2672 maintains testing accuracy even when interference current reaches 2 mA, making it suitable for on-site use with large-capacity transformers rated at 110 kV and above. The HM2306's interference immunity has been significantly enhanced to withstand 50 mA of induced current (AC 2000 V), ensuring stable operation even in extremely harsh testing environments such as ultra-high-voltage substations.

III. Output Load Capacity: 1.6mA vs. 5–10mA Short-Circuit Current

The HM2672 has a short-circuit current exceeding 1.6mA, with a voltage/load rating of 5000V/40MΩ. The HM2306 has a short-circuit current of approximately 5mA, with some configurations reaching 10mA. It offers greater output power and stronger load capacity, enabling faster charging of high-capacitance test specimens such as long-distance cables.

IV. Portability and Weight: 1.4 kg vs. 5 kg

The HM2672 measures 235 × 200 × 135 mm and weighs less than 1.4 kg, making it suitable for frequent on-site inspections. The HM2306 measures 385 × 298 × 196 mm and weighs approximately 5 kg; it sacrifices some portability in exchange for higher test voltages and stronger anti-interference capabilities.
